Digit is a European project that aims to promote digital skills for responsible use of online identity. Through this project, the consortium aims to investigate the implications of digital identity for adults and to provide the necessary educational instruments and support tools for adult educators.
Digital competences are currently one of the key educational priorities of the EU institutions. While digital skills are considered necessary to meet the needs of the labour market, the concepts of ‘digital citizenship and identity’ pose an increasing challenge to society. People who may or may not have digital skills, including “digital natives”, need to be informed and aware of how their identity and their print is tracked on the internet.
– To provide some basic guidelines for minimising cyber-threats to personal data and threats to public image, and therefore also address issues such as cyber-bullying and hate speech.
The development of the DIGIT training strategy, which envisages the development of training materials for adult educators on an online platform, will be tested in a series of pilot projects. The results of the pilot projects will be included in a report with policy recommendations for policy makers at EU level, which will be presented at the final conference of the project in November 2019.
