Last 3rd and 4th April 2017 DomSpain hosted in Reus the Second Transnational Meeting of the European project “Promoting Third Age Education”. Project partners, educational centres from Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia and Spain, participated in this face-to-face meeting in order to evaluate the activities carried out so far, develop further the quality assessment plan, start designing the methodology of the courses included in the platform and decide the next steps to follow regarding dissemination.
During the two days of working sessions and conferences, the participants also met representatives of Reus Town Hall and Centres Cívics and were able to discuss key issues related to decision making on behalf of the administration and exchange good practices. Some of these international adult educators, attended some of the language classes organised by DomSpain in different Centres Cívics, and participated actively in some oral and speaking activities. Besides, there were organised very interesting presentations about the topic of adult education, such as the talk “What we need to know about designing a programme in older adult education. Andragogic Theoretical Background” by Dr. Dusana Findeisen – Head of the Institute for Research and Development of Education of the Slovenian Third Age Education.
Local mass media informed about this meeting, both in digital and printed newspapers, after interviewing some of the experts on the topic. All partners agree that these two days were very useful and productive for the future development of the project; we will all continue working for a better quality adult education around Europe!
