Call for Intern: Social Media Manager


The European Youth Press (EYP) is recruiting a highly motivated Social Media Manager intern to support the implementation of the organisation’s social media strategy and actions.

The selected candidate will be working full-time in Berlin starting from early April for a period of (at least) three months and is, under the guidance of the Office Manager, responsible for:
• Outlining a specific social media strategy for the organisation based on its external communication guidelines
• Daily social media posts and updates
• Blog posts and texts for the website and newsletter
• PR and other communication tasks;
• Other tasks that might not be directly connected to communication but to assistance to the Office Manager.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A high degree of independence and flexibility;
• Experience with digital media and social media channels;
• Experience in non-governmental organisations;
• Excellent written and spoken command of English, a basic knowledge of German is desirable;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and be familiar with online communication.

Travel Video Contest 2016

The Travel Video Contest is now open for entries. Students from around the world once again have the chance to win the $4,000 grand prize, a $1,000 Viewers’ Choice Award, other runner up prizes, and, of course, worldwide fame.

Young people from 18 years old, from around the world, already enrolled or planning to enroll in college or university outside their home country are invited to join this contest.  All they have to do is to make a short video of maximum five minutes, explaining their reasons to travel or study abroad. If entrants are already studying abroad, they could make a video about a trip they would like to take. If they are not currently studying outside of their home country, their entry must describe their proposed study abroad.

The author of the best video will be awarded with $4,000. There will also be great runner up prizes. The winner will have to maintain a blog documenting the trip. The blog will start immediately after the winner is announced and will continue through the trip until return to school. Contributions are expected at least once a week during the preparation for the trip and daily during the trip.

Call for young journalist

Orange Magazine is looking for one young video-maker with a background in journalism to cover this year’s Nantes Creative Generations Forum. The candidate has to be between 18 and 30 years old and a citizen or a legal resident of the EU member state.

The Nantes Creative Generations Forum, which takes place every year in the autumn, aims to bring together young people to present their innovative and inspirational projects linked to citizenship. As well as showcasing their own projects, participants will have the chance to learn from peers across Europe and to gain better understanding of the European dimension of local projects.

Orange Magazine is a project of European Youth Press (EYP), an organization working for the benefit of young media-makers in Europe. Orange Magazine will provide photo coverage and create a general video about the event. The participant will be accompanied by one Orange core team journalist. The organizers will provide the Orange Magazine team with free access to the whole event including opportunities to interview both guest speakers and participants.

The video journalist will create one general video, which will include the highlights of the conference and some vox pops with the key guests and organizers of the event. Experience in video editing and camera shooting are required.

The forum will take place in Nantes, France, from 26th to 29th October 2016. Accommodation for three or four nights (depending on the flight’s schedules), local transportation and food are covered. Travel costs to/from Nantes are reimbursed (up to 400 euros).

The submission deadline is Sunday, 21st September 2016, 23h59 CET; and selected participants will be notified by  Sunday, 28th September, 2016.

Graphic Designer Position and Digital Marketing Internship

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN), the international student organisation, is looking for a Graphic Designer and a Digital Marketing Intern.


The Graphic Designer will ideally start in September 2016. The employee will work in cooperation with the Communication Manager of ESN to support the organisation’s visual communication needs, primarily in web design and publications design.This is a Full-time position of one-year contract from September 2016 to August 2017.The candidate will receive a salary €2100 per month gross. Transport costs in Brussels will be partly covered according to Belgian legislation.

The Digital Marketing Internship will ideally start on the 1st of October, with a duration of 6 months.

The selected candidate will support the Partnership Manager with the purpose of facilitating his tasks in the area of marketing and, at the same time, learn about the latest digital marketing trends in the market and the business perspective of NGOs.

Interested candidates must have an Erasmus Placement or any Internship Agreement. InnoApps Challenge

The European Young Innovators Forum, in partnership with Huawei has launched the InnoApps Challenge.

The competition is inviting young students and professionals from 18 years old to 36 years of age, from Europe to create an App relevant for SmartCities.

Applicants will have to fill a questionnaire (or record a 2 minute video), by answering the following questions:

– Do you have a relevant idea for SmartCities?

– How is this idea linked to the SmartCities (or SafeCities and/or Internet of Things)?

– What is the impact/value of your idea?

– Tell us more about your personal and professional background.

All entry materials must be in English. Applications can be submitted several times until the deadline: 25 October 2016, 23h30 CET.

The short-listed candidates will be invited to all-expenses paid two-day hackathon in Brussels, Belgium.

Six finalists and six runner-up finalists will be selected and the six finalists will be invited to pitch at the InnoApps Finals Event in Brussels.

This InnoApps edition will feature two prizes:

– Winner: 20.000€

– Runners-Up: 15.000€

Juvenes Translatores – Translation Contest

Juvenes Translatores 2016, the translation contest for schools has been lunched.

The competition is designed to give 17-year-olds (born in 1999) from schools throughout Europe first-hand experience of what it is like to be a translator. Young students will be given the opportunity to take part in a translation test that will take place on the same day in all EU countries: 24th November 2016.

Pupils will be able to decide which of the European Union’s official languages they want to translate to and from.

Schools across Europe are invited to register by 20th October 2016, 12.00 midday (Brussels time).

The awards ceremony will take place in Brussels, Belgium, in Spring 2017.
